Mori Seiki’s NT Series Receives Award
For Excellence

Chicago, Illinois, July 11, 2006 – During the 24th annual Nikkei Superior Products and Services Awards/Nihon Keizai Shimbun Awards for Excellence, Mori Seiki’s recently released NT Series of integrated mill turn centers received an Award for Excellence. This award recognizes the achievements of companies with new products or services of particularly high quality.

Products and services nominated for the awards are selected from public applicants, the Nikkei Business Daily, the Nikkei Marketing Journal, the Nikkei Financial Daily, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, or from those recorded in Nikkei Shimbun’s new product database.

After careful consideration, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc. determines the final nominees in areas ranging from industrial and consumer goods to software and financial goods. This year’s selection committee was led by chairman Emeritus Professor Hiroyuki Yoshikawa of Tokyo University.

Out of the 250 products and services selected, 45 received awards, including 21 that received an Award for Excellence. Mori Seiki’s NT Series was the only machine tool to receive this prestigious award. The NT Series employs both DCG™ (Driven at the Center of Gravity) technology and the box-in-box construction of the NH Series horizontal machining centers, along with the turret with a built-in milling motor from the NL Series CNC lathes.

In 2002, Mori Seiki received its first Award for Excellence with its NV5000 vertical machining center.

Mori Seiki produces extremely reliable machine tools and distributes worldwide. The U.S. headquarters is in Chicago with offices in Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.
