Chicago, Illinois, July 10, 2006 – Mori Seiki USA, a company dedicated to true technological innovation, has announced that it will be holding its Innovations of the Americas cutting contest. Supported by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the competition is designed to acknowledge the finest innovations and technical expertise in all the Americas. Contest entries are currently being accepted and the winners will be announced in Mori Seiki’s booth, #A-8400, at this year’s IMTS, which will take place September 6-13 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

The Innovation of the Americas contest is open to any company, school or research institution located in North, Central, and South America that is involved in metal cutting and is experienced with CNC machine tools. Individuals that desire an opportunity to showcase their creativity and machining expertise and skills are encouraged to participate. Contest entries must be received by August 25, 2006, and all submissions will then become property of Mori Seiki USA.

Entrants will be judged by professionals from reputable industry organizations and universities. Mori Seiki will proudly display select entries in its IMTS booth (A-8400) to showcase the high level of expertise possessed by many machinists and manufacturers in the Americas, and will host an awards ceremony during IMTS to announce the prize winners.

While many individuals may choose to submit only one product, multiple entries are permitted. Outstanding entries are subject to Mori Seiki publicity, including but not limited to print media, Internet marketing and other promotional opportunities. In the event that a product is copyrighted or belongs to another company, participants must obtain appropriate levels of authorization before submitting their entry.
