Chicago, Illinois, October 11, 2006 – Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. (Nagoya, Japan) and the DIXI Group (Le Locle, Switzerland) are in exclusive negotiations concerning DIXI machine tools.

It is Mori Seiki’s intent to purchase the DIXI manufacturing facility where machines are produced, and continue the design, manufacture, distribution and service of DIXI brand machine tools from Le Locle, Switzerland. In addition, Mori Seiki intends to expand operations in Le Locle and begin the manufacturing of certain Mori Seiki machine tool models at that location.

Assuming the successful completion of negotiations, Mori Seiki and DIXI hope that the new Mori Seiki company will begin operations in Le Locle as early as January 2007. Mr. Akihiko Takeda of Mori Seiki will have responsibility for the management and operation of the new company.
