High-Precision Vertical Machining Center
NV Series specifications

The NV Series is revolutionizing manufacturing on vertical machining centers. By using the latest computer design techniques and dynamic analysis, Mori Seiki created DCG® (Driven at the Center of Gravity) technology to redefine the limits of vertical machining, achieving unmatched accuracy, reliability and productivity.

To eliminate residual vibration at the tool tip, DCG causes driving forces to move through an axis’s simulated center of gravity. This allows for dramatic increases in machine speed, with no trade-off in the areas of accuracy or quality of surface finish. Additionally, the decrease in vibration boosts tool life to further reduce costs. Designed to maximize your spindle utilization, the NV Series features a 30-tool magazine with a tool-to-tool change time of just 1.0 seconds. The 12,000-rpm spindle drive uses DDS (Direct Drive Spindle) gearless technology to provide full power at all speeds and accelerates to full speed in just 0.97 seconds. Rapid traverse rates of 1,654 ipm further reduce non-cutting time.

The NV Series’ linear guides use sealed bearings, lubricated for the life of the machine, eliminating the costs of purchasing and disposing of way lube. Additionally, an excellent chip disposal system provides powerful metal removal capabilities to increase the overall efficiency and reliability of the machines.

Mori Seiki also considered up-time and service ease at every stage of design. The total number of machine components has been decreased, as has the number of disposable parts. The electrical cabinet is only 12" deep, allowing easier access for maintenance. The cabinet is also mounted on the rear of the machine, allowing machines to be mounted closer together.
