Roundness To Be Rivaled

Look at cylindrical grinding in a new way – vertically.
  • Vertical grinding opens up all the benefits of multi-processing. Since you can combine several operations into one, your work in process can be as small as one workpiece, which is the ultimate for achieving a lean process.

  • Because your part isn’t fighting gravity to remain in the chuck, vertical grinders require less clamping force.

  • Easily achieve great accuracy, such as circularity between I.D. and O.D. Avoid the error caused by chucking multiple times.

  • Chucks, fixtures, and the workpiece itself are easily loaded since they do not require support before clamping. Your operators will thank you for making setup so easy.

  • A vertical grinder is narrow compared to a horizontal grinder, so you can easily add a loader or a robot on the side of the machine, making automation compact and easy.

  • As opposed to horizontal grinders, where the X and Z-axis ways are below the grinding point, the ways of the X and Z-axes are higher in Taiyo Koki’s vertical configuration. This helps prevent dust from contaminating the sliding surface, improving the durability and accuracy of the machine.
